What should I do when I need tech support?

 
 

There are three ways to access IT support:

1. Submit a ticket: http://ehelpdesk.mpls.k12.mn.us
2. Call our service desk: 612.668.0088. Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
3. Send an email: ehelpdesk@mpls.k12.mn.us

How do I log into my computer?

 
 

1. You should receive your username and password when you first begin working for MPS.
2. Your username is the first two letters of your first name, the first three letters of your last name, and three     numbers. (e.g. jodoe001).
3. If you do not know your username or password, please contact IT support at 612.668.0088

How do I reset my password?

 
 

This you can do to reset your password:

1. Go to the Password reset site:
2. Call the service desk at 612.668.0088.
How do I access my MPS email?  
  First visit: http://webmail.mpls.k12.mn.us 
Use your MPS user name and password to log into your MPS email account.

How do I receive access to Discovery?

 
 

To obtain access to Discovery fill out the access request form at: Access to Discovery Form

Your supervisor will receive an email to approve your access request and then a ticket will be generated so an IT Services staff member can grant access.

How do I receive access to CFS?  
 

To obtain access to CFS fill out the access request form at: Access to CFS Form

Your supervisor will receive an email to approve your access request and then a ticket will be generated so an IT Services staff member can grant access.

How do I receive access to School Messenger?  
 

To obtain access to School Messenger fill out the access request form at: Access to School Messenger Form

Your supervisor will receive an email to approve your access request and then a ticket will be generated so an IT Services staff member can grant access.

How do I receive VPN access?  
 

To obtain access to VPN fill out the access request form at: VPN Access

Your supervisor will receive an email to approve your access request and then a ticket will be generated so an IT Services staff member can grant access.

How do I receive access to a Share Drive?  
 

To obtain access to a Share Drive fill out the access request form at:  Share Drive access form

Your supervisor will receive an email to approve your access request and then a ticket will be generated so an IT Services staff member can grant access.

How do I purchase in-room Technology.

 

  If you need new hardware (computers, monitors, iPads, etc) first select an item from the MPS Technology Standards Catalog then follow the steps listed in the technology ordering guide to order from your school or department budget.

What training options does IT offer?

 

 

  Training options are available through eCompass: https://ecompass.truenorthlogic.com 
Training options are updated throughout the year as they become available.

How do I update my school's digital signage display?

 
  Digital signage presentations are updated through the Carousel system. Training for Carousel is not available at this time so IT Services and Communications have created a user-friendly option that uses a Google Slides template.

If you would like to sign your school up for this option please send an email to answers@mpls.k12.mn.us and Communications will start the process to switch your digital signage display over to the Google Slides interface
